TPMS Systems Help Tallahassee Tires and Minimizes Repairs
Drivers in Tallahassee and other areas of the world are driving around all the time with under-inflated tires. Driving around with under-inflated tires often cause flats, blowouts, skids, and even longer stopping distances. In every cars handbook, the manufacturer will typically let you know the amount of air pressure recommended for your car or truck tires. Let’s say 35 pounds of pressure is needed, but the tire is under-inflated at 27 pounds. That is severely under-inflated, and the driver probably wouldn’t even notice that until it gets below 20 pounds.
This has been an on-going issue, so with New Laws passed, manufacturers are now required to include a TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System) in all light trucks and cars manufactured in 2008 and up. The TPMS system features a warning light mounted on the dashboard that goes off when one or more of the vehicles tires falls 25% below your handbooks pressure recommendations.
Even though the TPMS technology is relatively new to cars and light trucks, it has been used by Tallahassee race car drivers for years. The drivers and their teams are able to cut off problems caused by under-inflated tires by closely monitoring everything with it.
Even though the cost of including such a system in newer model vehicles has been studied and looked at by the government and Tallahassee tires professionals, the fact that cars have it and use it, will actually save quite a bit of money when it comes to tire repair, fuel, property damage, travel delay and even saving lives.
